1. Bosco the Mayor of Sunol, California

One of the most famous political pups, Bosco, a black Labrador-Rottweiler mix, was elected as the honorary mayor of Sunol, California, in 1981. Running as a “Re-pup-lican,” Bosco served until his passing in 1994. He was so popular that he even made headlines in China as an example of American democracy!

2. Duke the Great Pyrenees – Mayor of Cormorant, Minnesota

Duke, a lovable Great Pyrenees, was elected mayor of Cormorant, Minnesota, in 2014 and went on to serve multiple terms. Winning by a landslide (with nearly all 12 votes from the town’s residents), Duke became a beloved symbol of the small community. He even wore a mayoral sash during official events!
